Learning the daily basics like ordering food, taking the bus, riding trains (changed trains at Tokyo station!), using vending machines… is a lot of fun. Kyoto is used to tourists and is therefore perhaps a bit easier to get around. The main attraction in Kyoto and Nara is a glimpse into ancient Japan with all the temples, shrines and gardens. Because the internet provides plenty of images, I tried to only focus on some interesting details occasionally.
