North Vietnam – very small group tour

This time I joined a very small group of six travellers with a very nice mix (3 girls, 3 boys; 3 Aussie, 1 Kiwi, 1 US). After strolling around Ha Noi for two days, now well known after the days spent end of April, we boarded the overnight train from Ha Noi to Lao Cai. One more hour by bus took us up to the beautiful, but also touristy area of Sa Pa. Luckily the rice terraces were just ready for harvesting, which gave this nice color contrast between green and yellow.

The next three days we spent in the spectacular, surreal, mindblowing Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark in Ha Giang Province. The pictures don’t really do justice to the experience in reality. The last two days of the tour we enjoyed the lakes in Ba Be National Park and sleeping at a homestay.

Finally I headed down south to Phu Quoc Island in the Gulf of Thailand for some relaxing, ‘doing absolutely nothing’ days on the beach 🙂
