South Korea – driving & flying on…

Arriving in South Korea, I decided to relax two days on the beaches of Incheon near the http://www.airport.kr/eng/ International Airport. Before heading to Seoul… Where I still struggled with the jet lag and only got to see some of the popular places. Now driving through the country, first north to the border of North Korea and then east to Seoraksan National Park. Pleasant stay at Gyeongppo beach and back to the mountains in Alpensia (Pyeoungchang 2018 Winter Olympiccs). A visit to the famous Hahoe Folk Village on the way to Daegu. Not much done there and drove on to Busan in the worst rainstorm; it was very scary and dangerous on the highway… Have to do this area on another trip to South Korea. Sun is back and finally on Jeju island 🙂

I didn’t check what weekdays I would be on Jeju, but it turned out to be a perfect September weekend, which is nice, but the crowds were massive everywhere. All the popular spots had around 50 tour buses parked and cars accordingly. In some places, there wasn’t even a parking spot left… Still, excellent island to visit!

Btw. the GPS in the rental car on Jeju was only in Korean language (incl. menu and voice) and the map I received as well. Without getting along with somehow punching in phone numbers into the GPS, I would have probably had to leave the car at the rental station. So I missed some waterfalls and caves (they don’t have phone# :-), but it’s always amazing, how one get’s adapted to the given situation…
